Director Liu Shizhen introduced at the meeting that cotton has always been a traditional advantageous industry in Hengyang City. Hengyang City has good land conditions, abundant water resources, abundant sunshine, abundant heat and more precipitation. The light and heat resources are well matched in the cotton production season. The cotton industry has a certain position in Hunan Province and even the whole country. It is the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. The key area of ​​regional construction of advantageous agricultural products is one of the two major cotton areas in Dongting Lake District and Hengyang Basin in Hunan Province. The annual planting area of ​​Hengyang City is about 300,000 mu, with high output and good quality. It is the largest cotton planting area in China. In recent years, despite the structural adjustment, the cotton planting efficiency is low, and the planting area is stable at more than 200,000 mu.

Director Liu Shizhen pointed out that since 2011, Hengyang City has vigorously promoted the live broadcast of cotton oil, the whole process of mechanized production, and the light-simplification of seedling raising technology, which solved the problems of more labor, high cost and lower efficiency, and was highly recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Hunan Agricultural Committee. Certainly, it is summed up as a typical example of the high yield of Hunan cotton in “Hangyang in the south and Anxiang in the north”.
